Tweens are the "in crowd!"

Tweens. They're a hot market, they're complicated, and there are two in the White House: Sasha and Malia Obama.

What do tweens consider cool? Music was at the top of the list, followed by going to the movies. "Being smart" ranked third tied with video games followed by electronics, sports, fashion and protecting the environment, according to a report.

My tween would probably rank video games 1st, 2nd and 3rd, thinking that being smart, electronics, and movies were all rolled up into that one header. Boys!

Thankfully, he's got diverse tastes in reading and put me on to some great YA authors.

It's so hard getting boys to read, Regan. You've definitely had a good influence on him!

I'm not a tween, but I do write YA.
My nephews hated to read, so computer games would be at the top of their list. I don't know if they are cool, but they think they are cool!

I can't really complain about the computer games because we got a new Wii for Christmas.

Hate to say how much fun it is:>}

Well, it's certainly cool to have two tweens in the White House! My tweenie girl puts video games and those online computer game sites (Club Penguin, etc.) at the top of her list, too. And cell phones - nice ones, not like mine.

Seems the consensus is video games and more video games!

I am officially a teen! My younger brother however is a tween, and like Mom says, would videogames at the top of the list every time...

And also like she said, he has a great taste in authors. He's on a mythical-fantasy-in-the-real-world kick right now... He's always like Grecian tales and history. On that thought, me too!

Thanks for the comment, Iris. Nice to see that you and your brother enjoy reading!
