Eating Trees, Snow and Cookies!

We have a new edition to the house. Oz, the cat with the yellow eyes and a deep desire to chew on our fake tree, including the lights. Any minute now I expect to find him spazzing out around the house, hair stuck on end from getting electrocuted! Normally we have a real tree, but we're traveling for the holidays so we dragged out our "vacation tree" this year.

I live in Wisconsin where fall flowers can be in bloom one day, and the next we have over a foot of snow. "Off to Grandma's House" has a whole new meaning in a blizzard. One time, on our way down one night, the snow blew sideways, directly into my windshield. I felt like Captain Kirk at warp speed!

Most of all, I think the sort of holiday havoc I love is that in the kitchen. The cookies! OMG! When else do I have an excuse to make so many? Stained glass cookies, molasses cookies, peanut butter kiss cookies, sugar cookies to decorate, macaroons, espresso wands dipped in chocolate, double chocolate chunk brownie cookies. Lets not forget the fudge, the cookie-dough truffles or the rum balls either! Who needs dinner when ya got dessert?

Whatever craziness your holiday brings, I hope it's a fabulous one!

Warmly,

Can I come over?!?! Lol - cookies are my biggest downfall! Before I had the kids, I was a xmas baking fiend, now not so much time. Perhaps in a couple more years... lol. Stay warm!! We are on our 3rd day of no school because of snow! Yikes!!
